A few games like Atlantica Online and Perfect World were considered for multiple categories. Feel free to leave comments on any choice.

Least Grind

Guild Wars may have a low level cap, but that is in place to get to the good stuff sooner! PvP also helps to minimize the grind.

Best PvP

Conquer Online sets itself apart from others in the martial arts genre by offering engaging PvP.

Best Graphics

Sword of the New World sports visuals that could rival many pay-to-play games.

Best Customization

Perfect World has the type of character customization that you might find in a single player RPG. It is that good!

Best New Free MMO

Mabinogi was launched in North America almost a year ago but it has already became a leader in the industry. The Fantasy Life aspect of the game can be quite addictive.

Best Strategy Game

Although it does have RPG elements, Atlantica Online is the best strategy MMO period.

Best Social Game

Second Life did not receive much competition on the way to winning this award. This award may be changed next year.

Best Free MMOFPS

Combat Arms won this category by a large margin. Although it has not been around for long, CA has already established itself as a top MMO shooter.

Best Browser Game

Runescape edged out AQ Worlds and zOMG to win the award. RS is still popular after all of these years.

Best Free MMORPG of 2008

Shaiya managed to win the majority of votes over Fiesta in the final day of voting. Shaiya was also considered for Best Graphics and is known for having different difficulty modes. One of those modes is so hardcore that it could result in the permanent death of a character.
