Developers of this hugely popular strategic turn-based MMORPG has made a precious Christmas gift to their players – ‘Call of the Wild’ patch, which introduces serious number of important changes to the game content.
Most important change is the introduction of a new mercenary to hire – Druid. It’s a ‘Class-A’ mercenary using axe and 3 three different magic skills possible to learn (Forest Prison, Beast’s Soul and Enraged Beast’s Soul). The Druid can be obtained by completing the Druid Recruitment Quest, which player can start on level 100 and above.
New Dungeon called Grand Canyon has been added, targeted for only most skilled and experienced players. Minimum level required to enter this area is 121 (recommended 128), which seems reasonable when you look at the toughness of monsters awaiting your party in this dungeon.
Interesting new system of player cooperation has been added, called Squad. Squad is an alliance of up to 30 players, formed to enter Squad Dungeons (more on it below). There are 3 ranks within the Squad: Commander, Assistant Commander and Member. Each rank has different privileges and actions available to perform within the Squad.
Coyote’s Valley is a Squad Dungeon added with last patch, which allows up to 9 players of minimum level 100 (recommended 120) to explore this challenging and full of surprises area. Items required to hire Druid mercenary can be obtained for completing quest or as one of the dungeon rewards. Coyote Valley has 60 minute time limit, with a cool down of 40 hours.
New competition has been added – Colloseum League. It allows players to fight evenly with each other, regardless of level and equipment. Colloseum League will last for 60 minutes, and each player can take part in up to 7 battles in this time. Most important features of this new competition type – experience will be granted to participants (but no Atlantis coins) and wins/loses won’t affect player’s current division stats.
Battle systems changes include possibility of having up to 2 Beast Trainers, Oracles and Janissaries in the formation. Sword main character was made tougher to receive less physical damage, when Spear and Bow will deal more damage with higher Attack Power.
In addition to above, bigger or smaller changes have been made to:
- Magic system
One new magic spell added (Crimson Blade); some magic spell effects changed.
- Dungeons
The minimum level requirement to enter all dungeons from Angkor Wat to Mysterious Saloon has been decreased by 5 levels.
- Monsters
Number of monsters in some areas has been decreased; stats, skills and appearance of some monsters changed.
- Items
Main important change here - the Attack Power of projectiles (arrows, bullets, and cannonballs) has been improved.
- Quests
4 new quests added; requirements and level cap for some quests changed.
- Interface/Functionality
Location Chat has been added (allows players in the same region to chat with each other – levels 30+); 32 new emoticons added.
- Community
300,000 additional residents have been distributed across all the towns for each server; changes in sending gifts to beginners (daily limit, amount of cash, fee).
Those changes will make playing Atlantica Online even more pleasant experience, balancing the game and fixing irritating bugs. If you look for something new in MMORPG world, with different approach, Atlantica Online is the title to check.
