I must say that I got hooked into gaming because of Audition Online Dance Battle.  I used to play simple online flash games but when my friend introduced me to this online dance community, I got addicted.

Audition originated in South Korea and has become very popular in East Asia.  Game play is simple by battling the opponents in a dance showdown.    In order to obtain scores for your moves, a player should tap the arrow keys as shown on the screen in the proper order and finish it off with a tap on the spacebar as the beat ends.  It is quite confusing at first but when you’re already adept with it, you will be amazed how automatic your fingers react.  I am personally amazed how my brain-hand coordination works when dealing with a long string of keys to tap.  It’s like my hand has a mind of its own!

The game nicknamed Audi is a free-to-play game.  All you need to do is to download the client and install in your PC.  As soon as you’ve signed up, you are good to go dancing.  First-timers need not worry because there is a step-by-step tutorial right at the start.  And you will never advance into the actual dancing part unless you’ve passed the tutorial.  Once you’ve passed it, you better be ready exploring the world of Audi.

This MMO game has several multiplayer modes in which you can dance individually, as a group and even as a couple.  In fact, I personally consider this game as some sort of a cross between a game and a social network.  It is because a player could actually build relationships including his own dancing family.  There’s even an occasion wherein some couples accumulate enough points to actually get married.  They can even get divorced!

One of the fun parts in playing Audi is the fact that you can actually dress up your avatar.  There is a Fashion Store wherein a vast collection of clothes and shoes are for sale.  You can also choose to change your eye color, your hair and even your facial expression.  You can buy them using the in-game currency earned while playing.  But if you are after a flashy look, loading of game credits is necessary.  This is the earning part for the developers of Audi since most players want to look their best.

Lastly, one of the things I love about this game is the songs.  Audi used to have an all- Korean repertoire of danceable songs when it first started.  However, due to its huge popularity, it now includes pop English songs and even local pop songs for local versions in some countries.

I couldn’t think of anything bad to review about Audi since this is my “first love” when it comes to MMO games.  It is a game wherein you shine because of your acquired skill and you do not need to “hurt” your opponents just to get ahead.  For sure, there are other gamers who would prefer battling it out with the use of canons and missiles.  But as for me, I am very happy dressing up and dancing the night away.
