On Feb 8th, 2011, Bigpoint launched their open beta of Battlestar Galactica Online. Based on the popular tv series, players will be able to join into the fight as either a Cylon or Human playable right from the browser. This game is a space combat MMO where players will have to use tactics as they command multiple ships during gameplay to overcome the enemy. The two races are fighting for resources and territory within the system that they are stuck in.
The game features story-driven quests based on the Battlestar Galactica universe. Players will choose their character and work on building up their fleet by gathering resources and taking territories. Each side has their own unique quests as well as different ships for them to build their fleet with. There is combat where players from different sides will fight against each other for territory.

This is a beutiful game for a browser. However the learning curve is a bit steep. It is hard to understand things do to random bugs.(sometimes the game works sometimes it doesn’t, you never know) Flying in space takes a lot of practice. to have a successful dogfight is almost rare. The controls feel sloppy, and the opposing seem to outnumber, outspeed you, and overpower you constantly. Regardless of which side you choose.
If you die, guess what? you have to start the quest all over from the very beginning. Quest objectives are hard to understand. If you pick up a bunch at once you can not just pick any quest you want to do, you have to finish each quest before you can advance to the next one in the order you picked them.
Character customizing is very limited, and if you pick your character, you are stuck with it. It is not like you can go in and delete your character and start fresh, like most MMO’s. You have one chance at this, so decide carfully. One character per slot for each realm. So having multipule characters on one realm will never happen, unless the Devs change it. Not sure how to even delete a character that has been made yet.
Planets can not be explored at all. You will come across many planets, and if you take your ship to them the ship you are piloting will just bounce off the planet. A lot of background stuff in this game, and we can not interact with just about all of them. The game is more of a run and gun, thats it.
Graphics are a 7 out of 10 which is not to bad for a browser Gameplay 2 out of 10. Pretty confusing game. controls are -10 out of 10. Down right bad. May increase if you practice very often(Which can be very tedious)
