    DDO has now been f2p for a while now, early response was positive. What do you guys think of the game now?

    I think they have the right idea but I don't think they did it quite right. It's a little too limited and in a game based on instances limited gets boring fast because the content never changes. They are working on it but I doubt it will ever get much better they seems to like where it is now.

    Up to the point you hit where it's limited, it's a pretty good game. It's unique and has a different feel to it. I think another big problem is how leveling works... it's based on D&D so it's not there fault but it can be confusing not to mention extremely boring, there are only 20 levels... them 20 levels scale to about 80-90 in other games so level progression is really slow. Even when you do level up you don't get many points to spend but again that's because of D&D rules.

    Overall I think it's a cool game but personally I don't think D&D rules make for a good MMO.

    I wasn't even aware that they made it completely free. I remember when it was in beta testing -- not a bad game. My biggest problem with the same (as you mentioned) was that it was too limited for what it was. D&D is constantly producing new rules and books that eventually, the game becomes dull and you realize that you can do more with a pencil and character sheet.

    . . . . . but yes.....I'll be downloading it.

    If I'm passed out in front of my computer, don't worry. I've just been playing too many MMORPG's. Simply look at my medical alert bracelet and force feed candy as such. ^^;
