Both Free MMOFPS and MMORTS games are not as popular or abundant as their Free MMORPG cousins but offer different areas of gaming for free MMOGers. Both subgenres also have their problems like lag in MMOFPS games and people quiting too soon in MMORTS games. However, the question is which of the two are better. I think we will see more MMOFPS games than MMORTS because the FPS genre is better suited to MMOs than RTS games. For example, a new MMOFPS called Wolfteam, which will soon be added to the MMOFPS list, is a fun new MMOFPS that will surely draw some players in due to its concept. Combat Arms is another new MMOFPS that is doing well. There is a good new MMORTS called Beyond Protocol, but it will not be free-to-play:(.
