Legend of the Golden Plume Review

The Legend of the Golden Plume is another “cartoony” MMO that is easily judged as a kiddie game.  But hardcore gamers, before you lose interest, let’s give LGP a chance.  We’ll proceed to a brief walkthrough of the game, shall we?

Low Download Size

As with other MMOs, the game client should be downloaded.  And I must say that it was as easy as a breeze to do that.  The 600MB size of the client is not that heavy for your PC.  As soon as you’ve got all the files you need, hit the play.exe button.  You will be taken into the flashy log-in window.

Graphics

Graphics are cartoon-based which makes it easy on the eyes.  The colors make it bearable to be played even for long hours.  With adorable characters and pets in the game, who would think of skipping this game out?

Gameplay

LGP is a game wherein you can choose what character you want to be.  Each one has its own distinct quality which proves to be helpful in carrying out quests.  These are:

1.    The Warrior – strength and vitality are his distinct qualities
2.    The Mage – primarily uses his intelligence
3.    The Taoist – also uses his intelligence together with his spirit
4.    The Swordsman – naturally utilizes his strength and stamina
5.    The Priest – relies on his spirit

LGP involves pet system wherein a gamer has the option to make a monster his pet by training it.  This pet can be utilized as a sidekick in fighting battles.  You will also find out that there is a large collection of monster pets to choose from.

Aside from fighting side-by-side with your pet, you can also team up with other players in order to finish a quest faster and at the same time, extra XP is given for this group effort.

LGP also has the Auto Tracking System in place.  This enables you to be sent directly to the NPC you want to see without the need to wander aimlessly.  It is like being able to teleport from one location to another.

You may think that only social MMOs have a marriage option.  That is not true anymore.  Getting hitched in LGP is also possible!

One thing, I would love this game to improve on is the camera view.  The camera is positioned on a bird’s eye view all throughout the game.  It would be a lot better if there are other options on how to modify the view.

Overall

Rating: 7/10.  I would say that this game is worth a try. A little kiddie factor on the graphics wouldn’t hurt, while long hours of MMO fun is definitely a plus.
