Heroes of Newerth is a free to play Massive Online Battle Arena game made by S2 games based on the hugely popular Warcraft 3 scenario game called Defense of the Ancients.

Players in Heroes of Newerth control a single character from a third person perspective. HON focuses on hero control and development, and removes many of the common features of classic real time strategy games like base management, resource collection and single-player missions. The goal of the game is to work together in teams of five in order to take over the opposing team’s base.
Heroes of Newerth is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena game where two teams of up to five players each take the role of a special hero. Each hero has their own unique set of skills to complement other allied heroes along with AI controlled armies with the objective to destroy the opponent’s team base. Game progression entails leveling up of heroes and gaining gold bounty to be able to equip the Heroes with items to make them more powerful.
Most of the characters to be found in Hero of Newerth are based from characters found Warcraft’s Defense of the Ancients with similar abilities and builds.
