League of Legends cast of characters could be the most colorful and weird entities assembled in a game. For those familiar with Warcraft’s mod offspring DOTA (Defense of the Ancients), League of Legions features the same addicting game play which gamers have come to love.

The game is a MOBA or multiplayer online battle arena where teams of players control one character in an effort to dominate and eliminate the other team’s players. Two teams are pitted against each other in a Real Time Strategy map bustling with AI monsters battling it out against each other.

For those unfamiliar with MOBAs, players are asked to choose a character and like RPGs these characters level up with each kill. Every player starts at the same level and gains new abilities in an effort to gain the upper hand. Think of it like a never ending PvP, where you compete for experience points by killing the opposing team monsters and heroes.

However, League of Legends has also added some new additions like line of sight providing heroes the ability to spring out and ambush unsuspecting enemies. League of Legends also come with various maps that test a player’s strategy. Aside from killing opposing heroes and monsters, players are also given the option to farm out in-game monsters for additional experience and power up items.

You could keep track of where your team mates are going or coordinate attacks by simply looking the games mini map. Players start with two bases producing minions at the same rate for each team. However, there are no options for modifying or upgrading team bases which helps players concentrate more on building their characters.

The game does not offer much in terms of manipulating the game or battle conditions except for offering players 3 maps to choose from. Eliminating the other team means destroying their structure and stopping the influx of your opposing team’s minions could be done by destroying their structures.

Newcomers might consider practicing with friends as the games community is highly competitive. The game has website support for getting with the game and a forum for exchanging strategies. Unlike MMORPGs, players not characters level up. This is quite similar with FPS or first person shooting games where players earn experience points after every match.

This allows players to get upgrades and bonuses which could be used in the next game which certainly gives them a slight advantage. At the end of every match a comprehensive end game is generated allowing players to learn how they could improve their game.

All in all, League of Legends gives hardcore PvP gamers a chance to bring their MMORPG skills on a new platform. Players should also be reminded that playing the game is highly addictive and could give them countless sleepless nights wondering where they went wrong.
